We first began meeting in the Queens Head in Cullercoats on a Sunday night in … And we have met most weeks since then. We have had many changes over the years, but the key aspect of what we are about is building community around spirituality and faith.
We have various ways in which we do this, through discussing blogs on a Sunday night that we wrote ourselves. We go for ‘wanders’ in and around the coast, we meet monthly together to share breakfast and explore worship in different ways. We have a prayer gathering and we create labyrinths on the beach, in recent times we are working with another project called Seasoul to explore more ways we can connect with the coast and to explore the seasons.
We have been creative in the way that we explore faith and spirituality through the launch of Christmas Angels, the knitted angel project. We have created icons and left them out in public spaces for people to take. We have played with art, spoken word, poetry and photography. We have also created new liturgies to help unpack some of the ways we express what and who we are.
